Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead proactive sales efforts across both The Bruntsfield Hotel and Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort. Please note this role will be based in The Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will identify and secure new business across the corporate, MICE, and leisure segments while managing and growing existing partnerships. This cluster role requires a highly motivated and strategic sales professional with excellent market knowledge, relationship-building skills, and a track record of driving revenue across multiple segments and properties.
Responsibilities:
New Business Development
- Proactively seek new corporate clients, agencies, DMCs, and incentive partners for both hotels.
- Identify market opportunities in Edinburgh aligned with each property's strengths.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow market share and revenue across both hotels.
- Represent both properties at networking events, trade shows, and industry exhibitions.
Account Management
- Manage and grow existing accounts to increase multi-property usage.
- Conduct joint property site visits, account reviews, and tailored presentations.
- Ensure all CRM records are accurate and reflect client activity across both properties.
Leisure & Travel Trade Development
- Engage with tour operators, OTAs, and leisure agents to position both hotels in relevant markets.
- Promote seasonal packages and curated experiences for individual travellers, couples, and families.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop cross-property leisure campaigns and offers.
Incentive, Conference & Group Sales
- Target incentive agencies, event planners, and PCOs for group opportunities.
- Present both properties as options for high-end events, corporate retreats, and golf/spa groups.
- Coordinate with operational teams to ensure seamless group experiences.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Cluster Director of Sales and both hotel General Managers to align activity with broader commercial strategy.
- Provide regular reports on pipeline, client feedback, conversion rates, and competitive insights.
- Monitor trends in regional, national, and international travel markets to inform sales strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel sales or business development, ideally across multiple properties.
- Proven success in corporate, MICE, and leisure segments.
- Strong understanding of both the Edinburgh and Greater Glasgow/West Coast hospitality markets.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively across properties and travel as required.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting platforms.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
