Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join Allianz Engineering Inspection Services Ltd (AEIS).
We're looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join our successful operation, based in our London office. You will be part of a close-knit team that works well together to consistently deliver strong results.
You will also be part of the wider Region, supporting colleagues to deliver strong business performance across the Region.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Relationship management, networking, communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the UK commercial insurance market and products.
- Sound business acumen and an understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
- Experience of managing communication across all stakeholder groups and a wide audience of internal and external audiences.
- Involvement in direct contact with customers/clients to acquire new business or develop existing business or accounts.
- Participation in sales presentations, developing bids, and responding to proposals.
- Developing business from an agreed panel of intermediaries through sales and marketing initiatives, campaigns, new product launches and re-introducing existing products.
- Raising and maintaining awareness of business development activities and opportunities by liaising with the different teams across the business.
- Maintaining market awareness and monitoring market changes providing appropriate feedback across relevant stakeholder groups.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of developing business in a commercial intermediated environment is preferable but not essential.
- ACII qualified or making progress towards achieving this.
Key Accountabilities
- In this external facing Business Developer role, you will be responsible for building/maintaining strong relationships and developing profitable business with an agreed panel of Brokers.
- Tasked with growing your accounts in line with corporate strategy in respect of our Inspection Service as well creating cross sell opportunity for other Allianz lines of business.
- Primary point of contact for these brokers and co-ordinate AEIS's proposition to market enabling profitable growth of the account in line with branch and team plans.
- Work closely with both underwriters and the management team to retain existing business as well as identifying/converting new opportunities. At the same time, you will be required to build insightful trading plans that both Brokers and internal teams understand and buy into.
