About the Role
The Business Development team is at the heart of shaping MUBI's long-term strategy, ensuring sustainability and growth in an evolving and competitive media landscape. Collaborating closely with the CEO and department heads, the team identifies opportunities for innovation and drives strategic initiatives that support MUBI's mission to bring great cinema to audiences worldwide.
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, negotiating, and implementing partnerships, launching new products, and optimizing global operations. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will manage the launch of our app/service on third-party platforms, design high impact collaborations with brands in parallel industries, and gather business intelligence to inform our strategic decision-making, while building relationships with key external partners. Your work will directly contribute to expanding MUBI's reach, improving operational efficiency, and fostering long-term growth.
You will focus on:
- Evaluating new business opportunities across diverse industries and markets.
- Managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Conducting market research to track trends in media, consumer behavior, technology, and policy.
- Developing financial models, business plans, and investment cases.
- Measuring and reporting on KPIs and metrics to assess the impact of business development activities.
- Supporting fundraising efforts by preparing materials, presentations, and updates for investors.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Product, and Programming) to align business development initiatives with broader company goals.
What you will bring:
- A proven ability to analyze and interpret complex data, delivering actionable insights that drive decision-making.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling business cases and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other presentation and data analysis tools to support financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, enabling the management of multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in the media or technology industry (5+ years preferred).
- Experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or a business management role ideal but not required.
- Knowledge of the film industry (a plus but not essential).
- A strong desire to learn, grow, and adapt within the company, and embrace new challenges with enthusiasm.
