Business Development Manager

This Business Development Manager role is 100% about seeking out and securing new clients. You will bring energy, determination and creativity in bucket loads. You will be on-point for inbound enquiries, representing Smyle to new / prospective clients, understanding their challenges and identifying opportunities to get us in the door. You will tailor the Smyle offer, story and positioning, supported by decks / assets etc., to showcase Smyle in the best possible way to prospective clients.

Key Accountabilities

  • Seek out opportunities in a relevant, creative, intelligent and distinctive style, that adds value to new clients, our agency and your colleagues
  • Work at pace, with hunger and energy, this is about covering the ground as effectively and efficiently as you can
  • Develop and execute new business sales strategies
  • Create and deliver inspiring credential presentations
  • Build and maintain a consistent and robust pipeline of qualified leads
  • Deliver a consistent number of briefs into the business each month,
  • Lead the development of small and medium RFI and RFP responses.
  • Expand and nurture relationships through existing and new client networks
  • Monitor trends, news and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
  • Learn from our charismatic Smyle community, and collaborate with them to develop tailored outreach strategies
  • Maintain accurate records in our CRM system and provide regular activity and performance reports
  • All other duties appropriate to the role

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a business development role
  • Experience in the brand and/or events industry preferred, but not essential
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets
  • Excellent presenter with ability to build strong rapport
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A proactive self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Results-driven with high attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Bring thoughts and ideas to the team
  • Ability to move at pace and multi task
  • Embrace and champion Smyle's behaviours
