About the Role
Whisky tourism is the #1 activity for tourists in Scotland with over 2m visits to Whisky experiences across the country each year. Our visitor experiences offer unparalleled opportunities for consumers to immerse themselves in our brands and play a critical role in recruiting consumers from all over the World to our brands and the wider Scotch Whisky category.
We are on a mission to double the size of our Scotland Brand Homes business in order to recruit over 2m consumers per year into Diageo's brands. Our brand homes are the perfect blend of consumer experience, world class retail and outstanding F&B, they play a critical role within each brands consumer recruitment eco-system whilst also being one of Diageo's few truly direct to consumer (D2C) businesses.
We are launching a new Business Development team in order to unlock rapid commercial growth via building winning relationships with key partners in the Travel and Events Trade, recruit new and repeat customers to use our spaces for their events and build ensuring relationships within the Hotel and Hospitality sectors to unlock consumer recruitment to our venues. This role is dedicated solely to the travel trade sector, with an exclusive focus on building and expanding our tour series portfolio and expanding awareness of product within the wider travel trade network. As a Business Development Manager, you will leverage your proven expertise and established industry relationships to drive growth and secure strategic partnerships, ensuring our offerings meet the evolving demands of a high-end market.
This is a remote role. Successful candidate could be based anywhere in United Kingdom.
Key Outcomes
We are on a mission to double the size of our business through exploding the scale of recruitment of consumers who visit our brands homes by F29. Your key deliverables will include;
• Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy for the travel trade sector, emphasising luxury and FIT markets.
• Identify new opportunities and market trends to continuously enhance our tour series portfolio.
• Leverage existing relationships within the travel industry to secure and nurture key partnerships.
• Establish new connections with tour operators and travel agencies to expand our market presence.
• Build, refine, and enhance a compelling tour series portfolio that aligns with market demands and consumer preferences.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate market insights and optimise product offerings.
• Leading the commercial performance of key accounts via rigorous commercial management; unlocking growth and maximising sustainable profit delivery.
• P&L responsibility for relevant partners to ensure delivery of accelerated growth performance
• Accurate forecasting and internal performance management with attention to detail
• Provide regular performance analysis and accurate forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Work with the Heads of JWPS and Malt Brand Homes, Marketing, Retail and Finance to deliver Diageo and Partners needs and commercial and activation goals.
• Control and compliance: Track and control the effectiveness of A&P spend and ensure full compliance with DMC and CARM
Functional Capabilities
• Proven experience in business development within the travel trade, with a focus on creating and expanding tour series in the luxury and FIT segments.
• Deep understanding of market trends and consumer behavior within the high-end travel market.
• Established network of industry contacts and a track record of leveraging these relationships to drive business growth.

Experienced Required
• 3-7 years' commercial experience with roles in new business development a major plus.
• Essential experience in the travel trade sector, with proven expertise in developing tour series portfolios within the luxury and FIT segments.
• Deep understanding of the travel market dynamics, consumer preferences and evolving industry trends
• Passion for Whisky, our customers & our consumers.
• Advanced negotiation and customer relationship building skills
• Robust commercial understanding, P&L literacy - innate numerical and analytical skills and ability to derive insight from data.
• Ability to forge strong and effective cross-functional team relationships and confidently interact with senior collaborators internally and externally to deliver business outcomes
• Effectively networked within the travel trade industry, to manage multiple external customers as well as collaborating with internal partners to build value for our customers.
