Job Title: Business Development Manager

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per annum plus car allowance and commission

Hours per week: 35

Location: Home based role with occasional travel to Head Office in Wigston.

About the roleWe're looking for a confident individual to join a small team that is driving a safe and health world of work globally. You'll do this in your role as Business Development Manager by assisting clients in putting their Occupational Safety and Health strategy first.

You will have responsibility for the end-to-end customer journey including making initial contact with businesses and managing this relationship to proposal development and contract agreement. You will support and work with key decision makers and senior leadership of organisations to help deliver their strategies by aligning them with our product and service portfolio, creating value for IOSH both financially and reputationally.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will be a target driven sales professional who has experience of creating credible, strategic level relationships with global partners. You will have the knowledge and experience to seek out new global business opportunities and will travel both locally and internationally to develop and secure these opportunities whilst managing and growing existing customer accounts.

You will be an excellent communicator and help promote IOSH's products and services to its markets, partners and other stakeholders, being the expert voice and representing IOSH at events. You will be confident in stakeholder management and building credible relationships, as well as developing and implementing robust sales strategies to drive success.

Essential criteria

  • Education to degree level in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • A good understanding of the customer relationship management process.
  • Experience of securing new business opportunities globally and managing growing existing customer accounts.
  • Driving performance achieving outcomes by generating commitment and enthusiasm from yourself and others to achieve challenging goals and objectives.
  • Problem solving - investigating, assessing and evaluating issues and events, generating potential solutions towards a successful outcome.
