Salary: c.£40k plus commission

We have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the m&i Sales team for Worldwide Events, the company behind m&i, Private Luxury Events, TFest and Amour.

Worldwide Events specialises in business-to-business trade events bringing together key players in the travel and events industry. We are the pioneers in making business joyful and connecting industry professionals in the perfect environment to encourage business.

The company is an established front-runner of the Meeting & Incentive, Luxury, and Romantic Travel sectors with events hosted in destinations such as Dubai, Ibiza, Istanbul, Seville, Oslo, The Bahamas and Mexico.

The Role

As a company, we're on an exciting growth journey - that's where you come in! We are looking for an exceptional, highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our m&i sales team.

This role will revolve around identifying new business opportunities and developing tactics to further improve the Company's market share in EMEA. This is a proactive sales role, whether on the phone, in person, online or at industry events, your experience, salesmanship and communication skills will shine through to ensure you reach your objectives and increase our client portfolio.

Additionally, you'll:

  • Identify, pursue and convert new business leads to gain market share
  • Determine emerging market trends, competitive threats and growth opportunities
  • Deliver tactical sales presentations to prospective clients, live or online
  • Regularly engage clients face to face through sales trips and exhibition attendance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive further development
  • Develop, improve and maintain the sales database to maximise opportunities
  • Maintain impeccable standards of CRM optimisation

Due to the nature of the industry, you may occasionally be required to work outside of hours to meet deadlines. Regular travel to attend our events and represent the company during trade events and sales visits will be required. Requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related
  • Proven track record of success in business development or related sales roles
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior revenue generation role
  • Experience and proficiency in running cold calling campaigns
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision makers at top level
  • Tactical thinker with a proactive mindset and drive to achieve targets
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and international environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software; experience with Salesforce or a similar platform is desirable
  • Functional understanding of the hospitality industry desirable but not essential
