We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to spearhead strategic initiatives in the Industrial sector within the UK. This pivotal role involves proactively cultivating new business, opening doors to potential clients, and networking strategically to identify key projects and influencers. As a key contributor to our business development strategy, you will play a crucial role in developing and nurturing leads, converting opportunities into the sales pipeline, and establishing meaningful connections with decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the business development strategy through proactive engagement, networking, and continuous opportunity validation.
  • Take the lead in opening doors to potential clients, fostering relationships with decision-makers.
  • Craft compelling pitches to effectively present the business to prospective clients and influential decision-makers.
  • Support the development of innovative approaches to identify and attract target clients aligned with company goals.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by generating new leads and nurturing existing ones.
  • Implement strategic plans to move opportunities through the pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of potential projects.
  • Educate clients on the unique solutions and capabilities, searching out client pain points and creating opportunities for the sales team.
  • Map and cultivate key client relationships, spanning new, existing, and previous contacts and firms.
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive plans and strategies to maximise potential opportunities within large projects and investments in the UK Industrial sector.
  • Network strategically with influencers within target organizations and opportunities under consideration.
  • Drive opportunities from an unqualified stage through the pipeline, facilitating a clear go or no-go decision point for handover to the Sales Team
  • Maintain and expand the customer database through effective use of the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Own and execute pitch plans for booked meetings, ensuring alignment with the overarching business development and sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in B2B business development.
  • An understanding of how large and complex client organisation's function
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational, planning & prioritisingskills to ensure that follow-up deadlines are met even in busy periods.
