Business Development Director - Up to £70k w/ £170k OTE

Winning new business is one of the most challenging roles out there at the moment and, increasingly, we're seeing people pushed to do more and more, without the necessary sales infrastructure in place to be successful.

We've partnered with an organisation who are doing things properly. They've invested in their lead generation function and built and successful business unit focused on this. They've developed coherent and repeatable value-centric case studies within their core vertical specialisms. There's a clear route to market, which is supported by a marketing function that align properly to their sales team.

Having recruited several people, who are now flourishing, they're looking to recruit again. The next hire will be someone who can work with the structure above to manage the full sales lifecycle and close new business opportunities. This is distinct from your traditional 'phone, laptop, off you go' approach. You'll be responsible for taking a value-centred managed service to market and achieve amazing customer outcomes through a consultative sales approach.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background in winning new business and be comfortable hunting for new customers. You'll, likely, have experience in bid and tender management.

  • Manage inbound leads through to opportunities and closed business

  • Track record of achieving £450k GP+ with a good split towards new biz
  • Knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem is highly desirable
  • Self-starter with a high-energy approach
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Technically competent with an ability to learn and communicate the technical aspects of the solutions to a reasonable level of depth
  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship-building skills
