Join our dynamic team as a Business Assurance Manager, in a flexible, field-based role with hybrid working.
While the geographic span of control is adaptable, the previous post holder was based near our Bournemouth Head Office. Most meetings are held via Teams, so working from home is ideal, with occasional travel to Head Office (2-3 times a year) and some visits to advisor offices.

Key Responsibilities - Business Assurance Manager (BAM)
- Monitor ARs against KPIs and compliance standards.
- Supervise AR firms/advisers to ensure competency under Consumer Duty.
- Adjust oversight using a risk-based approach.
- Support onboarding with compliance checks and MIH standards.
- Guide new advisers to meet quality benchmarks.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews (face-to-face, Teams, phone).
- Provide ongoing support to improve quality and compliance.
- Assess adviser sales skills for competence and conduct.
- Offer regulatory guidance for positive customer outcomes.
- Investigate underperformance, recommend actions, and track progress.
- Identify skill gaps and deliver coaching/training.
- Maintain supervision records and report risks/trends.
- Liaise with lenders/providers on advice quality.
- Represent the network at events (workshops, roadshows, meetings).
- Build strong adviser relationships while maintaining oversight.
- Support CRM system usage.
- Share market updates and industry changes.
- Own personal development and stay informed.
- Uphold Consumer Duty in all decisions/actions.
- Be the network's representative to advisers in your span of control.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Essential:
- CeMAP or equivalent qualification
- Experience in Financial Services, especially compliance and training!
- Strong knowledge of FCA rules and mortgage/insurance markets
- Excellent communication, listening, and observation skills.
- High attention to detail and good IT/data analysis skills
- Strong time management and prioritisation
- Professional, diplomatic, and trustworthy
- Willing to travel and stay overnight when needed.
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Certificate in Equity Release
- Certificate in Regulated General Insurance (CeRGI)
- Commercial awareness
