What is the opportunity?

How would you like to influence the lives of around 64,000 people living in our 28,000 properties across Bristol?

As the largest residential landlord in the city, the Housing and Landlord Services Team has a key role in ensuring our existing and new homes are safe, secure, affordable and sustainable.

What will I be doing?

We are looking for a Building Survey Programme Manager to deliver our survey programmes of work, including stock condition and structural surveys. This role will capture the information to inform both our Decent Homes assessment and drive our capital maintenance programme. Furthermore, we are capturing additional information to better understand the structural condition of our high-rise properties. This is a new role in the team, which will allow someone to take on this role and shape it in a manner that reflects their experience and capabilities.

You will be part of the Asset Strategy Team, whose responsibilities range from establishing the 30-year housing investment plan worth billions, to identifying the properties to receive new kitchens and bathrooms in the next 12 months. Do I have what you are looking for?

  • Substantial experience, knowledge and expertise in procurement, and contract management within a survey, operational works, or capital works environment.
  • The ability to successfully manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels across an organisation.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety so everyone remains safe during our activities.
  • A capability to design and operate a quality assurance system that produces high quality and accurate outputs.
  • A driving licence and use of own vehicle: you won't succussed in this role working from home 5 days per week.
  • An ability to demonstrate alliance with the above values and behaviours.
