About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a Building Manager, you will have the following responsibilities,

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of construction and site engineering ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to.
  • Manage the interfaces between the MEH Alliance partners and subcontractors to ensure building delivery.
  • Lead, manage and motivate the building construction team through implementation of best practice.
  • Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available.
  • Review of engineering design deliverables, procedures & RAMs.
  • Ensure Management of Change for all Site activities are identified, justified, and issued promptly via the Change Process.
  • Ensure the early implementation of Completions (ORBIT) with direct interfacing with Completions leads.
  • Assure Project CDM compliance.

Who we're looking for

Do you have?

  • Relevant engineering qualification in subject matter
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Experienced in delivering and operating within major construction projects including experience working within Joint Ventures
  • Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
