Salary: £54,793+ Depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ownership, development and promulgation of standards and specifications relating to industrial control systems
  • Ownership, development, and promulgation of standards relating to cyber Security in industrial control systems and operational technology (OT)
  • Oversee surveys, audits, and process confirmations of system condition, performance operation, and supplier performance
  • Identification of opportunities for efficiency improvements, development of business cases and support to the implementation of opportunities
  • Provide specialist support to facilities management engineers and maintenance professionals across Air locations through the lifecycle of facilities
  • Collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure quality, continuity, and safety of utilities and building systems
  • Supporting the wider Engineering and Sustainability team on the development of innovation opportunities to decarbonise the estate and manufacturing systems

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Detailed understanding of industrial control systems and BEMS, with good knowledge of related industry standards, guidance and legislation
  • Basic understanding of mechanical building services fundamentals, with knowledge of related industry standards, guidance and legislation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Auditing and risk management, including the implementation of risk management frameworks and assessment methodologies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Be able to work well collaboratively as well as autonomously, without the need for day-to-day direct oversight
  • Have a strong business awareness with an understanding of the challenges involved in working for a multi-national Organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools

Desirable

  • Building Controls Industry Association qualifications (level 3) or equivalent – not essential but nice to have

The Energy & Sustainability Team:

The Energy & Sustainability team is a tight-knit group of six specialists, sitting within the wider Facilities Engineering & Sustainability team who work at the intersection of energy efficiency, industrial control systems, and cyber security, ensuring the resilience, sustainability, and security of our estate.

We collaborate with a diverse range of experts, including Energy & Environmental Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and BEMS Engineers, as well as key stakeholders across Estates, Asset Management, Finance, Digital, and Cyber Security. Together, we set the standards for industrial control systems, operational technology (OT) security, and building management systems (BMS), ensuring the continuity of critical manufacturing operations.

From conducting surveys, audits, and system performance reviews to identifying efficiency improvements and supporting the decarbonisation of our estate, our team is at the forefront of transformative change.
