Base Location: London

Why Join KPMG as a Broadcast Assistant Manager - Videography and Editing

This exciting new role reports into the Senior Broadcast Manager for KPMG in the UK, with the purpose of delivering engaging, high quality broadcast / streamed / recorded events to our people.

Building on the two years of broadcasting experience our dedicated studio has gained, you'll work closely with our small broadcast team within Internal Communications, and across Corporate Affairs and Marketing. Closely collaborating with our Digital teams in order to deliver quality broadcast events for our key audience. With a hybrid angle to our events, you will also find creative broadcasting methods to bring content to a live and virtual audience simultaneously.

What will you be doing?

  • Pre-Shoot production management and planning for the development and delivery of video packages to be used at flagship events such as - "Connect Live" or the "Annual Partner Conference" - these events require complex production co-ordination and logistical support
  • On site editor - responsible for creation and post-production workflows - graphics and brand specific assets - must be skilled in BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve edit software plus Adobe Premiere
  • Work as part of the team to deliver a quality broadcast schedule across the firm, maximising opportunities to use our skills and facilities.
  • Oversight of production assets prior to broadcast and retention post creation of all video assets
  • Creation of videography and edit procedures and processes (Health and Safety, edit techniques, compression, location of assets, graphics templates) - dissemination of same to other team members - version control of documentation
  • Assist in Teams delivery over network - production planning, Teams diary bookings, Teams links management including functionality settings
  • End to end ownership of videography and live stream projects - from pre-planning to postproduction
  • Mentorship and training of other team members in videography and editing
  • Operate studio kit when required - CueScript / lighting / set movements but principally studio cameras
  • Strategy and planning of shoots in our offices throughout the UK - live streamed and pre-recorded
  • Responsibility for the ownership and maintenance of all videography kit used - lights, cameras, microphones, recording media - logging in and out of kit
  • Pre-shoot production consultation, recording of meetings using Co-Pilot, follow up and resolution of any technical or logistical issues prior to a shoot
  • Management and planning of on location shoots in collaboration with the production manager - booking hotels, travel, recces
  • Retention of broadcast/video package content produced and assistance in the creation of an asset management system with asset record keeping and procedure documentation in collaboration with the broadcast team

What will you need to do it?

  • Setup and operation of camera and videography kit - Blackmagic cameras and software - Aperture LED lights - Shure lapel mics
  • Maintenance and care of camera and videography kit - Blackmagic cameras and software - Aperture LED lights - Shure lapel mics
  • Experience using Da Vinci Resolve editing software and other edit packages including graphics packages
  • Basic use of Yamaha QL series audio mixers - operation
  • Video encoding and compression - an understanding of delivery of video assets over digital
  • Camera operations - studio multi-camera and videography skills
  • Audio assistant duties
  • An understanding of studio gallery technical workflows - cameras, vision mixers - CCU operator controls - experience using Black Magic workflows is preferable
  • An understanding of the principles of three-point lighting is essential
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines - to remain calm and rational when seeking production solutions to client requirements
  • Offer a truly multi-skilled production skillset with flexibility to need
  • Comfortable in client facing situations such as in studio liaison when required - mic'ing up and sound assisting duties.
  • A team player with ability to work with contractors, third party broadcasters, network engineers, broadcast engineers, employing a shared technological language.
  • A sense of humour and an ability to get stuck in when required
  • Extensive use of editing and graphics packages using the Adobe and Da Vinci Resolve suite of products to edit raw footage created by yourself or the wider team using our in house Blackmagic camera systems - edit in Adobe and Resolve is essential
  • Deep experience of production of self-shooting projects - lighting/editing/graphics/camera work in areas outside of the KPMG studio
  • Experience in content management and content wrangling - use of a centralised content hub and classification and retention of video projects to network storage

Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:

  • Credible in stakeholder management, relationship building and ability to manage demanding and challenging clients, without losing sight of the bigger business strategy picture - this in collaboration with the production manager.
  • A strong understanding of and interest in technology, social media and the impact developing technology is having on communications and collaboration
  • Production consultation skills - speaking to clients and breaking down client vision into discrete requirements - documenting the same for booking and planning purposes
  • An understanding of new broadcast technology solutions and how these can be applied to the KPMG studio
  • Vision mixing and directing
  • Floor management experience
  • Scenery movements
  • An understanding of studio personnel roles - cameras, vision mixers, sound, lighting - lead the on floor team as a production floor manager as required
  • CueScript operation, edit scripts and operate when required.
