An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education Department to join the Bristol Future Programme, our flagship initiative to improve outcomes for children and young people across the city.

The Bristol Future Delivery Manager will play a crucial role in driving forward improvement activities across the programme. You will work closely with senior leaders, school partners, and delivery teams to ensure we are making measurable progress in breaking the link between disadvantage and low attainment. This is a role with purpose, impact, and the opportunity to make a real difference for Bristol's children, especially the least advantaged.

Working alongside the Strategic Delivery Lead and external programme commissioners, you will coordinate, track, and support delivery across multiple workstreams. You will bring clarity, structure, and pace to our improvement efforts, ensuring that plans are implemented rigorously and that we learn and adapt as we go.

You will help translate insights from schools, children, and young people into simple, effective improvement activity that drives meaningful change.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality programme delivery support across the Bristol Future workstreams
  • Help shape, track, and report on delivery plans, ensuring that actions are implemented effectively and on time.
  • Work with partners, including schools, senior leaders, and external experts, to drive improvement through influence, challenge, and support.
  • Bring insight and evidence together to ensure we remain focused on what is happening in reality for children, young people, and schools.
  • Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for impact, supporting the team to respond with practical, clear actions.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Support the Strategic Delivery Lead and senior stakeholders with analysis, coordination, preparation, briefings, and cross-programme alignment.

What can we offer?

We offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with the main office base in central Bristol.

Excellent holiday entitlement and package of benefits.

The chance to be part of a programme dedicated to improving life changes for children and young people.

You should apply if

  • You believe deeply that great improvement is possible and are ambitious about achieving it for every child.
  • You have a strong track record in programme delivery, improvement work, or education system roles.
  • You understand how the education system functions and can operate effectively at both system and institution level.
  • You can influence, challenge, and support people at all levels to drive meaningful change.
  • You work with rigour, focused not just on carrying out plans, but on securing real impact.
  • You are highly organised, clear in your communication, proactive in your approach, and committed to learning as you go.
  • You enjoy collaborative working, have a can-do attitude, and can coordinate across multiple priorities.

This role will suit someone who wants to make a tangible difference and point to specific, measurable outcomes you have led.
