Ronseal

Have you ever heard the phrase 'Does exactly what it says on the tin.'? This is the famous tagline for the number one woodcare brand in the UK and Ireland - Ronseal. During our marketing activities in the mid-90's, this tagline captured the attention of the public for its straight-talking, no-nonsense tone, describing the performance of the products in this range. This line has become a part of the everyday vernacular in the UK and Ireland and perfectly outlines what Ronseal is all about: performance and simplicity. It's a line we are very proud of and continue to use as a core asset of our brand.

Ronseal didn't just rise to prominence in the 90's though, this brand has a heritage that stretches back to the early 1900's and is steeped in innovation and excellence that has led to today's leading range of fence care, decking maintenance, problem solvers, fillers, and trim paints.

Valspar

A short Valspar history. Two hundred years long. We've been in the paints, stains, and coating business for over 200 years, and we've come a long way since our modest beginnings in 1806 as a small Boston paint company. Wherever you are in the world today, within your day-to-day life, there's a good chance our work will be close by. Our paints, stains and coatings can be found on many items, including the polished ebony of a Yamaha® Grand Piano and the iconic red Coca-Cola® can.

Our brand positioning is to empower and inspire people to Colour with Confidence because they can be sure to find a colour they love. Whether it's one of our 2,000 pre-selected colours or an entirely new one for us to match. We believe in the power of colour, to change a mood or reflect identity. We have an opening for a Brand Manager to support on our popular Ronseal and Valspar brands within our consumer brands division.

The Brand Manager - Valspar & Ronseal assists the Senior Brand Managers in ensuring that our Valspar and Ronseal brands are communicated consistently across all internal and external touchpoints. The role takes full responsibility for projects based around content creation, PR activity, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and new product development (NPD) requirements.

This role works with the Senior Brand Managers to steward the Valspar and Ronseal brands, continuously drive projects, and influence stakeholders to build brand strength.

Tasks within this role include:

Asset creation - manages key asset creation projects to inform day-to-day and campaign creative across all channels. Directly responsible for allocated brand asset creation projects across various content types as requires - photography, video, copy, TV ads etc.

Campaign creation and execution - responsible for the delivery of allocated projects, campaigns and events across CSR, PR and sponsorship activities from planning to execution, ensuring they are all on brand and drive real, on budget. Responsible for reporting campaign results.

Branding support - works alongside Senior Brand Managers to be a go-to person for expertise and advice on the use of and development of the Valspar and Ronseal brands internally and externally. Takes an active approach to ensuring brands are well represented in terms of look, feel and tone of voice across all channels including internal communications, retailer communication, campaigns and packaging development (front of pack) where responsibility is allocated.

Brand presentation - delivers brand training and presentations to wider business and retail partners as required e.g. campaign overviews, induction training or brand guideline training.

Agency management - responsible for briefing brand projects to relevant agencies and ensuring the on-time and on-budget delivery and internal sign off.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (preferably in Marketing)
  • Marketing/digital marketing qualifications preferred
  • 3+ years in a brand marketing role
  • Retail or FMCG experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Time and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to present to internal stakeholders
