What your role is
At General Mills, the home of Häagen-Dazs, Old El Paso, Nature Valley, and many more household names, we have an exciting opportunity for you to shape the future of one of the world's most beloved brands as our Brand Development Director covering markets in the Europe and Australia (EUAU) region.
The Brand Development Director plays a pivotal role at General Mills as the company embarks on a journey of accelerated growth. You will partner directly with the market leads to drive brand strategy, positioning, and growth opportunities for the brand in our key markets in Europe and Australia (EUAU) and lead the critical decision-making business forums. Specifically, you are responsible for portfolio strategy across core (renovation, geographic expansion, mix management), Innovation (New platforms, Line Extensions, Experimentation), Holistic Margin Management (HMM), and CSR.
The Brand Development Director reports to the Regional Marketing Director for Europe and Australia (EUAU). You will lead a direct team of four to six marketers plus cross-functional teams across the region.
Key Accountabilities
Setting the short-term and long-term brand vision and growth strategy.
Developing brand building strategies; protecting and enhancing brand equity and increasing market share.
Identifying white space opportunities for the brand to experiment and grow.
Using data and analytics to analyze and develop recommendations to best serve the business across key markets.
Managing the internal business processes to make the most effective global decisions.
Building connections with key markets to gain understanding and partner to accelerate growth.
Inspiring the business, various stakeholders and developing your team
What you will bring to the team
- Your passion for leading the organization to accelerate our success- your experience and knowledge of Brand Management across developed and developing markets.
- An extensive track record of leading regional, global, and local consumer marketing.
- A mix of strategic and operational marketing experience with a strong consumer mindset - building brand equity.
- Knowledge of panel/continuous data and exposure to various market research techniques used in building brands.
- Inspiration leadership- able to energize and develop teams and influence cross-functionally to develop winning strategies that step-change business results.
- Agility, can work with ambiguity, think intuitively about consumers, offer innovative solutions, and be resilient to changing market dynamics.
- Strong communication, influencing, leadership, analytical skills, and a commercial orientation -motivation to increase profit and drive business results.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
- Extensive professional experience in Consumer Marketing with leading FMCG or related industries.
- Proven track record of success and experience of working in a Strategic and Activation marketing team structure at a regional or global level - with a strong product innovation background
- Strong analytical skills and ability to turn data to insight and strategy.
- Good stakeholder management and strategic influencing skills, ability to navigate ambiguity and align teams around one common goal.
- Strong track record of delivering projects on time to a high standard via outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Natural collaborator and connector that thrives on the ability to build broad relationships to drive differential growth.
