Steer Automotive Group is a leading provider of automotive repair services, dedicated to quality, customer satisfaction, and innovative repair solutions.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Bodyshop Manager to lead our Durham bodyshop to new heights of efficiency and excellence.
About the Role
As a Bodyshop Manager at Steer, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring repairs are completed to the highest standards. You will manage a team of skilled technicians, coordinate with insurance companies, and maintain outstanding customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all bodyshop operations, ensuring efficiency and high-quality repairs in line with industry and manufacturer standards.
- Lead and support a team of accident repair experts, including paint sprayers, panel beaters, MET technicians, estimators, and administrative staff.
- Understand business operations, including accounts, reporting, and KPIs.
- Manage site resources and costs to maximise capability and profitability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance companies, suppliers, and customers to ensure a smooth repair process.
- Monitor budgets, costs, and expenditures to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, repair techniques, and best practices.
- Oversee recruitment and prioritise interviews to ensure vacancies are swiftly filled.
About You
We are looking for an exceptional leader with prior experience as a Bodyshop Manager who can motivate and support a team to achieve targets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bodyshop Manager in the automotive repair industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques and industry standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage workloads efficiently.
- Organised and proactive problem solver.
- Ability to lead, support, and manage a team while working independently when needed.
- Strong focus on high standards and customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in bodyshop management software and other relevant tools.
