We are looking for an experienced BMS Controls & Engineering Manager to lead the mobilisation and long-term governance of the Building Management System for one of our leading clients This is a rare opportunity to step into a site during its critical setup phase, where you will be responsible for defining the maintenance strategy, establishing alarm protocols, and ensuring the entire control suite meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
You will not just be maintaining a system; you will be its architect. Your expertise will bridge the gap between complex mechanical plant operations and the rigorous statutory compliance required in a high-stakes environment.
Your Impact:
In this role, you will act as the primary technical authority for all on-site control systems. You will work closely with the engineering management team to move the facility from initial mobilisation to a steady, high-performing state. Your day-to-day focus will be a balance of technical oversight and strategic management, ensuring that every piece of equipment-from primary plant to individual sensors-operates within its required tolerances.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading the mobilisation of the BMS function and developing a comprehensive long-term maintenance program.
- Acting as the lead technical point of contact for the client, providing expert advice during system audits and emergency operations.
- Monitoring environmental controls in specialist areas to ensure 100% specification adherence.
- Enforcing strict change control processes across all software and hardware to maintain a bulletproof audit trail.
- Identifying system enhancements to improve resilience, energy performance, and overall plant longevity.
- Conducting rigorous quality audits to ensure the site remains fully compliant with all health, safety, and legislative requirements.
What You Bring:
- Extensive experience in BMS administration and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical distribution systems.
- A proven track record in mobilisation or setting up maintenance programs for large-scale control systems.
- Exceptional fault-finding skills across complex plant and equipment.
- The ability to translate complex technical data into clear, professional reports for stakeholders and clients.
- A disciplined approach to regulatory and statutory compliance, with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Strong communication skills and the leadership presence to advise engineering leaders on operational matters.
