A little more about your role...

We are looking for a BIM Manager to join our Rail Engineering Services Team who will lead the design coordination and delivery of multi-disciplinary rail projects. The role will comprise:

  • Providing and managing access to project information using various collaborative software systems that would form a project Common Data Environment (CDE). These systems would typically be ProjectWise (both PW Explorer and PW Online), iTwin, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Producing Drawings and 3D design models under the instruction of Discipline Team Leads and Engineering Managers.
  • Manages and updates Federated Models to support multi-disciplinary reviews and presentation of design solutions.
  • Facilitating design model reviews and final presentation of completed designs.
  • Undertake CAD Quality Assurance checks prior to submissions.
  • Working with Technical Leads and Project Controls Leads to enhance Quality Assurance processes.
  • ProjectWise Workflow support during submissions, including checking file attribution / CDE metadata, to be provided to discipline teams as required.

You will work on exciting and inspiring projects for a variety of Infrastructure Owners, Local Governments, Public and Private Sector Industry Groups. You will be part of the WSP UK Rail Information Management Team which is comprised of Technical Directors, Specialists, BIM Managers, BIM Coordinators, Information System Coordinators, Modellers and Information Controllers. Your roles and successes on projects for major Clients, including Network Rail and HS2, will help us achieve the WSP UK Transport & Infrastructure Digital Strategy objectives. There will be company-led focus on driving success and performance for projects but also for development and growth of our people as individuals.

What we are looking for you to demonstrate...

  • A HNC/HND (minimum) in Civil Engineering or with good experience of working on rail and/or civil engineering design projects.
  • Experience of supervising and coordinating the CAD output of others (either directly or indirectly) within a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • Familiarity with major rail client CAD Standards and associated ways of working.
  • Proficiency in the use of Bentley Systems software applications for 3D Modelling.
  • You will have a good level of experience in the use of Bentley ProjectWise for project information management and design delivery.
  • Ideally you would also have experience in the use of Bentley iTwin Services, for use on multi-disciplinary projects and for collaboration with Stakeholders.
  • An awareness of techniques and software applications typically used in producing Visualisations from Design data.
  • An awareness in the use of AutoDesk based software solutions including AutoCAD, Revit and Civil3D would be useful but not essential.
