Salary: Depending on experience

Location: Southampton (hybrid - min 3 days in the office)

The Billing Account Manager is responsible for managing the billing function within a group of companies operating across different countries, utilising the NetSuite ERP system.

This role involves processing customer invoices, applying cash receipts, monitoring receivables, and ensuring billing activities in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Billing Account Manager, the role

  • Process customer invoices accurately and timely based on sales orders, contracts, and billing schedules, ensuring adherence to billing terms and contract requirements.
  • Review invoice documentation to ensure accuracy, and compliance with billing policies and procedures before issuance to customers.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payments received and invoiced amounts, collaborating with internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances, aging reports, and collection activities to identify overdue accounts, outstanding invoices, and potential collection issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in accounts receivable and billing processes and recommend solutions to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer invoices, payments, and adjustments in accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements governing accounts receivable, billing, and revenue recognition activities.
  • Ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by management such as process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, or other projects aimed at optimising financial operations and achieving business objectives.

Billing Account Manager, about you

  • AAT Level 4 Qualified or Qualified by experience preferred.
  • Experience in account management in billing, or related finance roles, preferably in a multi-entity or international environment.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, as well as basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and system.
