THE POSITION & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Following the success of the Independent Hotel Show in London and Amsterdam, we are launching in Munich. We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated fluent German speaking Commercial Manager.

The Independent Hotel Show is a highly focused business event dedicated to hotel owners, general managers, and top-tier professionals within the realm of luxury and boutique hotels.

Our new event in Munich will be the premier platform for suppliers from across the hotel supply chain to engage and inspire a targeted audience of hoteliers from the DACH region.

As a Commercial Manager, you will step into a pivotal role in the exciting launch of Independent Hotel Show Munich. Your journey will immerse you in the world of boutique and privately-owned hotels, transforming you into becoming a trusted authority in the industry, creating valuable connections along the way. In collaboration with the Business Development Director, you will play a central role in bringing the event to life. This opportunity offers you the chance to take full commercial ownership of a dynamic project, where you'll craft and execute your comprehensive sales strategy, while nurturing enduring relationships with exhibitors in this vibrant industry.

You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales revenue targets and for managing the show's daily sales performance. You will also play a key role in strengthening our client, partner and stakeholder relationships and will function as a key ambassador for the event and the business.

In addition to working closely with the Event Manager and the marketing team, your role will entail overseeing the sales agents and collaborating with the IH portfolio sales team to ensure that the project achieves its targets. As Commercial Manager you'll also support senior management with wider strategic and long-term planning.

COMPETENCIES
• Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel within Germany on a frequent basis.
• A strong affinity with the hotel industry is preferable.
• Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload.
• Performance driven, keen focus on achieving goals and attaining commercial success with a desire to attract new business.
• Knowledge and experience of using different commercial processes and techniques to sell stand space and sponsorship opportunities.
• Experience of writing effective partnership and sponsorship proposals.
• Creative, strategic thinking.
• Competitor awareness and price point analysis.
• Knowledge and experience of using CRM systems.
• Ability to nurture strong key client relationships.
• Self-motivation.
• Great communication, both written and verbal.

THE ROLE
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the German market.
• Manage a team of sales agents and provide leadership and guidance to ensure targets are met.
• Proactively deliver the show strategy across new accounts.
• Manage the prospect database to ensure it is constantly updated and is fit for purpose.
• Work with the marketing team to deliver a targeted and well considered Commercial Marketing plan, tailored to the German market.
• Ensure prospect, exhibitor and partner communication is always accurate and on point.
• Support the Event Director with accurate and timely floorplan management, forecasting and ensure the CRM is always up to date.
• Attend industry networking events and competitor events to identify commercial opportunities, gain industry feedback and increase sector knowledge.
• Immerse yourself in the market, understand its trends and develop the event around it.
• Maintain an accurate stand and sponsorship ledger.
• Regularly reconcile sales ledger, accounting ledgers and CRM sales logs.

The central London, dog friendly offices are located in a Georgian townhouse, close to the bustle of Oxford Street and Marylebone High Street with private access to Manchester Square Gardens and easy walking distance to Hyde Park.

Hybrid working is offered to all applicants with a minimum of three days a week in the office (Monday & Thursdays plus a third day of your choosing). Core hours are 9-5pm but flexibility outside these hours will be required to suit the needs of the business. There will be a requirement to travel domestically to meet with clients and attend relevant industry events throughout the year alongside a small amount of international travel to visit relevant competitor exhibitions.
