Your new role
We are looking for an experienced bid modeller / commercial manager to join our growing transport consultancy commercial team and be a vital part of our continued growth in the UK. Reporting to the Commercial Director your primary focus will be to:
- Work as part of bid teams and lead on the development of winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks in liaison with the Bid Director and Bid Manager;
- Implement these winning strategies into financial models taking account of project risks and company commercial expectations.
- Work alongside the Bid Director to present these commercial strategies through the organisations governance process, helping gain approval from senior stakeholders.
- Work with the Commercial Director to help manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase.
- Work with project managers and directors during the project delivery phase to help manage commercial risk and opportunities at a project level.
- work with our internal business finance team to ensure that project related risk is appropriately managed within our project financial systems.
- Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as and when the need arises.

These include:
- Strong experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector.
- Experience of bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractors designer.
- A strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract in particular being comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components.
- Experience of working in a finance related role (preferred but not essential).
- Experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects either as a project manager or in a previous commercial role.
This role offers a great opportunity for a bid modeller / commercial manager to develop their skills and experience working on a wide variety of bids including frameworks and major design projects across multiple transport teams including highways, rail, smart mobility, programme and project management, tunnels and ports and marine.
