The Role

As a Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering winning bids within the Casualty practice, leveraging the Clyde & Co. pitching methodology. This unique position requires a systemized approach to pitching, integrating operational rigor and creative digital marketing tactics to enhance our win rate. Collaborating with the global BD team, you will set high standards for bid/pitch management, driving change within BD and ensuring the adoption of new methodologies.

The Team

Our Global Business Development Leadership team, in collaboration with the Global Strategy Board and Global Practice Executives, sets the strategic direction. The Business Development teams, comprising experts in Communications, Marketing, and Client Development, are led by regional heads aligned with our global boards. Our strategy emphasises managing and developing clients globally, adopting a content and product-led approach, and utilising integrated digital marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead identified pitches, including responses to RFPs, Panels, and ad hoc pitches.
  • Implement the Clyde & Co. methodology and supporting tools for effective bid management.
  • Deploy creative bid tactics aligned with client profiles to enhance our value proposition.
  • Lead the commercial approach of pitches, ensuring profitability and alignment with BD income plans.
  • Prepare partners for client presentations, overseeing rehearsals and presentation material production.
  • Conduct reviews on bid wins and losses, obtaining feedback from clients for performance improvement.
  • Manage data collection and dissemination regarding pitches and success rates.
  • Keep BD staff informed of new approaches and tactics to improve pitch effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement bid process improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a BD Bid/Pitch practitioner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, working closely with partners and associates.
  • Positive and tenacious with the ability to drive initiatives forward.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on profitable returns.
  • Project management skills, handling multiple priorities within tight timescales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including CRM systems, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Note: This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Eligibility for benefits is dependent on location and length of service. Confirmation will be provided upon joining.
