Bid Manager

Cornerstone is entering into a new and exciting phase of its growth, by expanding its new business team, offerings and services into new customers.

To secure profitable growth from existing and new business by leading and managing the full bid lifecycle from qualification to submission, working closely with the sales teams. The bid manager will develop a high-quality bid function, build a reusable bid library and collaborate across sales, product teams, commercial, delivery and legal to deliver compliant and compelling proposals that increase win rates and support the achievement of revenue targets and growth.

Scope
The bid manager is responsible for designing & leading the bid process for all new business opportunities across target market sectors. Partnering with sales to qualify opportunities and shape propositions that align with strategic, commercial, and technical priorities. Build and maintain a central bids library to improve efficiency, consistency and quality of responses.

Key responsibilities include:
•Shape competitive propositions through strong understanding of customer drivers, market conditions, and competitor positioning.
•Ensure proposals are compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with governance requirements.
•Manage, build and maintain structured bid templates, case studies and positioning statements within a bid library.
•Improve bid tools, processes and documentation to support higher efficiency and repeatability.
•Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on win ratios, loss reviews, pipeline status, expected revenues.
•Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Encourage innovative thinking and continuous process improvement within the team to enhance processes, efficiency and outcomes.
•Ensure successful award on relative Public Sector Frameworks, and the ongoing maintenance of key relationships.

Delivery

Manage the end to end bid cycle from kick off to submission and handover.
•Develop bid plans with timeline, inputs, and outputs to ensure submission are timely, accurate, and compelling.
•Coordinate stakeholders across Sales, Commercial, Product, Delivery, Engineering, Finance, Compliance and legal to deliver cohesive customer focused responses.
•Ability of managing people who are not within your function line
•Present bid progress, risks, and outcomes to Sales leadership with clarity and accountability.
•Support contract and pricing preparation to ensure commercial robustness and alignment with the overall proposition.
•Capture lessons learned post submission to drive continuous improvement and increased win rates.

Role Expertise

•10+ years' experience in bid management within Public Sector and B2B environments.
•Demonstrable success designing, managing and submitting competitive bids to win new business.
•Experience building and maintaining structured bid libraries and reusable content.
•Proven ability to coordinate multi disciplined teams to tight deadlines.
•Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience working alongside Pricing and Commercial teams.
•Experience shaping customer value propositions and differentiators through written responses.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
•Experience in technology, Telecommunications, IT services or similar sectors is strongly preferred.
•Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex propositions clearly.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
Experience of working with CRM software.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record in successful bid management, ideally within the mobile and telecommunications industry. Experience supporting and managing cross functional teams to deliver to time critical schedules. You will need to have experience in bid content libraries and or central repositories. Strong business acumen, including deal structure, development and value proposition. Someone who isn't afraid of building and designing the bid function from the ground up.
