The role

The Bid Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and harmonising the bidding and marketing collateral across the UK offices interacting with various internal disciplines. The Bid Manager will have ultimate responsibility for collating all the required input(s) to produce compelling bid documents that will realise a step-change improvement in the firm's bidding conversion rate.

Moreover, the Bid Manager will assemble and lead the sector's core bid team to produce industry-leading, project-winning bid proposals, and documents, setting the standard for all Hoare Lea's bids.

Taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process, the Bid Manager will be responsible for managing an opportunity from EoI/qualification through to contract award, working with the relevant sector team members and central management support to capture and promote the value proposition, commercial considerations, and risk management aspects, as well as supporting the delivery team to develop the strategy and solutions, aligned with the Hoare Lea brand.

What we are looking for

This role requires someone with outstanding organisational and communication skills, with great energy and attention to detail, possessing a 'can-do' attitude and with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will be able to inspire the team and be able to build strong relationships and influence at all levels, across specialisms and with senior colleagues.

You will have a proven track record of securing high-value complex engineering, consultancy, and construction services solutions. Ideally, you will already have an excellent understanding of the built environment and construction industry.

In addition, you will have strong bid management experience at a senior level with a proven ability to win work in a bidding and estimating environment.

Experience in leading and empowering a wider bid team is a must, as well as proven experience in developing and implementing bid winning strategies.

In addition, you must be computer literate and particularly proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
