What you'll be doing:

The Royal Armouries & New Dock Hall is the largest dedicated conference, events and Exhibition space in Leeds. Our venue offers world-class facilities for high-profile conferences, conventions, exhibitions, awards dinners and corporate events for up to 2,500 delegates, hosting more than 380 national and international events every year.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bar Manager to join our team at The Royal Armouries. As a key member of the Operations Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of bar operations to ensure that we are delivering the best possible service across all of our events. Purpose of the role:

  • To provide a quality, market leading and customer orientated service throughout the bar's operation
  • To continually enhance guest experience through operational management and strong leadership of the bar areas
  • Development and delivery of all bar/cocktail menus throughout all areas
  • To manage the business needs and performance standards in line with business guidelines, SLAS and KPI's.
  • To monitor the work of all bar staff and carry out appraisals, recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.
  • Bar stock ordering for all events and bars via the online FoodBuy portal
  • The receiving of stock, correct management of stock storage and lock up, chilling the appropriate wines, rotating bottles with clear stock rotation strategies
  • Stocktake of all Liquor items, to be done on a weekly basis
  • Upkeep of food safety and cleanliness standards within the bar areas
  • Upkeep and maintenance of bar equipment
  • Organisation of bar stock rooms
  • Ensuring that licensing terms are adhered too

  • Ability to communicate appropriately
  • Passionate about events
  • Ability to flex around business hours and client needs
  • Proven experience in venue front and back of house duties
  • Proven ability to manage a team
