Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Work with the Digital Architect, ICT and broader redevelopment team to provide project management and business case development expertise for the digital workstream of the redevelopment programme
Strategic Planning: Support the digital architect to develop and document a comprehensive digital strategy for the redevelopment programme aligned with clinical service goals, organisational objectives and national guidelines and directives.
Future State Definition (target capabilities): Assist the Digital Architect in creating and maintaining a roadmap of capabilities aligned to the redevelopment programme deliverables for Staff, Patients and Partners, expressed using New Hospital Programme's (NHP) "3F" notation; footprint fabric and flow.
Technology Evaluation: Help the Digital Architect plan and implement a capabilities roadmap and develop a supporting technical roadmap to deliver these capabilities, including suitable alternative technologies for consideration within the roadmap.
Horizon Scanning: Help the Digital Architect with the evaluation of emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to identify opportunities for enhancing clinical service delivery and patient outcomes.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT professionals, and external vendors, to gather requirements and ensure successful implementation of digital solutions.
Project Management: Work with the Redevelopment programme team to, ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and successful outcomes. Ensure that you run the digital projects in lie with the redevelopment PMO standards and processes.
Continuous Improvement: Help the Digital Architect monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, gathering feedback and iteratively improving systems to meet evolving clinical service needs.
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Master's degree in relevant field. Or experience at that level for several years.
- Post-graduate IT qualifications or equivalent extensive experience in IT related discipline
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE2 Foundation Qualified
- Business case development certification e.g. Better Business Cases Certification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Proven track record of delivering technical infrastructure projects across a number of service areas
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience project management preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Working with a cross-functional teams to deliver a programme of work.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project objectives.
- Presentations to internal and external bodies
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and execute complex project plans.
- Proven track record of delivering technical infrastructure projects across several services.
- Able to interpret, analyse and formulate requirements.
