Person specification

Education and Qualification

Essential criteria

  • Education to Degree level or equivalent.
  • Additional RCA risk management training/education or equivalent experience.

Desirable criteria

  • PRINCE 2 or equivalent Quality Improvement qualification/training.
  • Degree in management or related subject.
  • Evidence of on-going training/continued professional development in Governance and Risk Management.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of surgery and surgical services.
  • Detailed knowledge of Governance and Risk systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of DATIX system or equivalent reporting system.
  • Knowledge of CQC, NICE and CEPOD guidelines.

Desirable criteria

  • Project Management.
  • Change Management.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrable experience of Governance and Risk Management.
  • Experience of research and audit processes.
  • Experience of working with a broad range of staff from across organisations.
  • Experience in change management and development.
  • Experience of involvement in quality improvement programmes.

Desirable criteria

  • Research methodology.
  • Experience in clinical effectiveness.
  • Leadership experience.
