Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced person, to fill the position of Fire Safety Manager on a permanent basis.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as are solid IT skills. The post holder will have the ability to lead a small but dedicated Fire Safety team, be part of the Division's Senior Management Team, and act as the Trust's Fire Safety lead, owning all projects and day to day operational matters and providing advice, guidance, support, and assistance on matters relating to fire safety management.

In addition, the post holder will work closely with the Estates and Capital Project teams, Health & Safety Department, and other departmental managers to ensure the provision of a fire safe environment for patients/staff/visitors and to facilitate sustained/improved patient care and wellbeing in relation to fire safety.

Main duties of the job

Leading on all Trust matters relating to Fire Safety, the post holder will ensure that that the Trust complies with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) and will work closely with all relevant parties within the Trust's demise to ensure the provision of a fire safe environment for patients/staff/visitors and to facilitate sustained care and well-being.

Advising and assisting the Head of Compliance, Divisional Directors, and Trust Board in providing and maintaining fire safety compliance within Trust premises in line with the RRO 2005 & NHS Health Technical Memorandum 05:01, 02, & 03, and maintain good relationships with the Fire Authority.

The post holder will be able to provide assurance to the Director of Environment, his Deputy, and wider Trust board on all Fire Safety matters via the Head of Compliance.

The post holder will also be responsible for fire training and for ensuring risk assessments are in place that meet the statutory requirements of the RRO.
