Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of systems used across the service/directorate.
  • Maintain or ensure the maintenance of data quality and system documentation, including policies and procedures, training manuals, business continuity plans and functional descriptions
  • Support the occupational health and wellbeing team and others on training programmes appropriate to users of the systems in order to develop performance, skills and expertise across internal and external users
  • Support on the implementation of new systems and lead on developments and enhancements to existing systems, liaising with developers to ensure that improvements and problems are logged and monitored for progress and effectiveness.
  • Lead on the transfer of data, liaising with the software providers to ensure timelines are met, data and user testing are undertaken and in conjunction with the clinical team, ensure that migrated data is accessible, and that data is mapped appropriately.

  • Degree in Systems Analysis and Design/Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience of providing systems administration and systems management
  • Experience of working in a busy and complex office environment
  • Experience of implementing departmental systems within the NHS
  • Demonstrable experience of reporting tools, database systems and software development environments.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience and understanding of project management principles.
