Job overview

To be the day-to-day supervisory lead contact for facilities actions across the following, but not restricted to, services and roles

Waste management -In line with HTM 07-01, supervise and co-ordinate waste streams within site, to ensure pro-active removal of waste clinical/non

Linen management -Supervise site linen team in dept requirements based on a rolling pre set par level, to maintain full linen supplies as well as Trust contingency plan. Provided up to date audit trail and costings, and sign and confirm receipts for payment.

Clinical Audit -Attend daily IPC site audits and compile reports for adaptation for lead service group meetings.

Procurement -Supervise stock/non stock ordering of service required goods and dept stationary, along with progressing invoices for payment.

Uniforms -Manage staff uniform requirement process including procurement/collection and rotation of stock with full audit trail for payment

Access control -Supervise the ID control team and manage Drs student bulk bookings along with stock procurement.

Team management -Indirectly manage/supervise ID control team and duty facilities officer, and progress growth thru key skills framework and training.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role of a Senior Duty Officer is to support the effective and efficient delivery of the soft FM function, working alongside the relevant Estates and Facilities managers and stakeholders.

The key areas of responsibility are as follows:
• Provide dedicated project support in delivering the soft FM function.
• Provide on-going audits for linen, site management and CCTV access as when required.
• Provide on-going/ad-hoc ID access control sessions as and when required.
• Working in partnership with colleagues from separate NHS sites within The Royal Free Group.
• Support department stock auditing and ordering as and when required.
• Attend meetings with stakeholders and internal teams as and when required.
• Support the Deputy Facilities Manager in the day-to-day monitoring of the Barnet Hospital site.
• Support the delivery of the programme effectively and efficiently, promoting effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support the departmental work plans
• Be responsible for providing team support to the various work streams, providing dedicated resource, monitoring implementation and evaluation of the work streams by providing high quality reporting as required.
• Co-ordinating with various groups, identifying interdependencies across the work streams
• Communicate complex, sensitive information to a range of stakeholders.
• Support delivery in terms of waste management, aligned to the waste management HTM 07-01
• Work autonomously in the role, escalating issues that may arise to the appropriate person and forward plans to avoid delays
• Analyse and interpret a range of information, issues, options and situations across a broad range of work streams.
• Comment on procedures to identify where improvements can be made and introduce local processes to support projects running smoothly.
• Support with the delivery of milestones through proactive monitoring and ensuring any gaps or risks are highlighted
