What you'll do

As Automation Lead you will help lead technological and transformational change across IT Operations by identifying and leading strategic automation initiatives to deliver next generation innovation, simplification, and standardisation. You will report into the UKIT Observability Manager and will lead the team in delivering automated solutions. Operational excellence is a key priority, and you will play a key role in strategically defining how we can achieve this, as a change agent within IT.

  • You will manage a team on and offshore to deliver automated user stories, forming a main point of contact for all problem or perceived automation issues.
  • You will engage with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and create a continuous roadmap of improvement initiatives.
  • You will own the end-to-end automation solutions via Cortex or other automation technologies, ensuring timely delivery and handover to internal stakeholders.
  • You will drive agile ways of working to ensure the team evolves into full agile practices i.e. KanBan boards and scrum calls.
  • You will ensure robust controls are in place for all automations, including capacity planning and debugging, operational support models.
  • You will lead engagement with platform engineering and architecture to deliver new technologies.

Who you are

  • You will have a proven track record of delivery within a contact centre of back-office environment, including OPEX reduction, IT availability, risk addressing and accuracy improvements.
  • You will have leadership experience of cross functional and matrix managed teams.
  • You will have experience in Project Management, including planning, supporting business case creation and impact tracking.
  • You will have experience working in an Agile environment, ideally as a Product Owner or Scrum Master.
  • You will have experience working with robotic process automation technologies i.e. PEGA, UiPath, Cortex or other and deploying automated solutions.
  • You will have knowledge of Service and Operations Management.
