Automation Solutions Engineer, Global Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) , Cross Functional Programs and Standards (CFPS, SMI, RAE)

We are looking for an experienced Automation Solutions Engineer to join our Global Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Team, focusing on design, program, test and implement software solutions and processes that enhance the productivity and quality of our field teams in all Business units.

This global role is an opportunity to become part of our team and make a real impact in different Amazon sites across the world, managing large-scale projects and initiatives, providing technical support to local teams and creating innovative solutions to adopt world class automated technologies and systems.

Flexible locations across the EMEA (Poland, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, Spain) and the UK.

It's required to travel to sites for support around 30%.

Key job responsibilities
-Understand and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, ASi), motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
-Programming and source coding for in-house built solutions based in PLC or PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms.
-Lead international innovate solutions related to Automation Systems/platforms/processes including License Management, EPLAN, IOQ etc.
-Project Management (PM) of large-scale initiatives that will require work activities coordination of Field-based Automation Engineers (AE) to accomplish goals of the business/Programs. Developing Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the Projects and Program based initiatives.
-Apply Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on troubleshooting and dive deeps for engineering issues, supporting local teams to investigate the root cause and planning actions to eliminate/mitigate the downtime of critical assets/systems/processes.
-Manage and work with Vendors to plan, support, coordinate tickets resolution for local teams or network wide issues and programs. As well as Financial planning for Opex requests for the Field and Central programs.
-Provide technical guidance and decision making for collaboration projects or initiatives with other Amazon teams, being a key stakeholder in supporting technical and major network support requests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- PLC experience (Rockwell/Siemens) is required.This includes Programming but also License management and differing License models.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience working within Amazon SME Programs in the field. This can includes OEE, SCADA, ASP, ADRP etc
