Hours - Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working - following successful completion of probation period

About the Audit Senior Manager role

Due to growth, we have a rare opportunity for an Audit Senior Manager in our Lewes office.
Reporting to a Partner, you will be managing a varied and interesting senior manager portfolio of clients, across a range of sectors, including some more complex assignments.
Key responsibilities of an Audit Senior Manager will include:
- Provide guidance and support to other managers in the team as required
- Deliver new audit engagements that run on time and on budget, achieving the promised milestones, to support growth
- Demonstrate leadership credentials in promoting team development and support the partners with all aspects of the audit department
- Manage the audit process from planning through to completion ensuring an appropriate team is assigned on each assignment
- Undertake non-audit assignments, including accounts preparation under UK GAAP
- Prepare & manage a job to meaningful & realistic budgets
- Demonstrate full utilisation of relevant software
- Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge in specialist area
- Understand the clients' business and manage each job to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met
- To be influential in the management and development of the Audit team & trainees, conducting regular 1:2:1's and appraisals to facilitate effective and continuous development and to coordinate any on the job training of staff
- Identifying other service needs of clients and potential cross-selling opportunities
- Assist in preparation of proposals and business development with new clients
- Sharing best practice and ideas within the team for process improvement and development of each other.
- Report directly to Partners on planning & progress of jobs
- Remain informed about legislative, technical & regulatory changes and share knowledge amongst the team
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- ACA / ACCA Qualified
- Substantial recent experience in an Audit capacity with advanced technical knowledge of Audit & Accounting standards
- Previous experience of managing own portfolio or able to demonstrate readiness to do so
- Previous experience of supervising/mentoring staff
- Knowledge of accounting systems and control environments within a finance function
- Experience with Sage and Xero, CCH and Caseware would be advantageous
- The role is not exclusively office based, therefore the ability to drive or access to transport to travel to client sites is required
- Demonstrates a professional presentation & work ethic at all times
- Ability to multitask, being able to manage a number of assignments at the same time whilst managing the expectations of clients and colleagues
- Ability to communicate and engage with clients in a professional manner
- General interest in business and the mechanics of what makes a business successful
- Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills
