Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior for TC SWP, based at our Croydon SWP office.

As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments and preparing statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will plan and execute audits in compliance with UK auditing standards, review work completed by junior team members, and ensure accuracy and quality throughout. Alongside audit work, you will prepare financial statements, liaise with clients to resolve queries, and provide practical advice to support their business goals.

Key responsibilities of an Audit & Accounts Senior will include:

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements for SMEs, groups, and other entity types (charities, LLPs, etc.).
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and basic tax planning schedules.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to trainees and assistants.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, support, and feedback.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • active involvement in the professional and personal development of more junior team members
  • identifying, researching and helping to resolve technical issues which may arise
  • develop a strong commercial understanding of the client's businesses and any developments within it
  • working as a team and independently on the firm's larger audits for both corporate and not-for-profit clients

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • ACA or ACCA fully qualified, or part-qualified and actively studying.
  • At least 3 years of recent audit experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge, with up-to-date understanding of current auditing and accounting standards, company law, and key regulatory issues.
  • Good working knowledge of corporation tax, with awareness of VAT and payroll taxes considered an advantage.
  • Experience working with a broad and varied client portfolio.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail, with the capability to identify issues, think laterally, and propose effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and ownership of tasks from inception through to completion.
  • Proficient computer skills, including strong Excel and Word capabilities; familiarity with CCH, Xero, and Sage is desirable.
