Salary - competitive dependant on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working - 1 day per week

Holiday - 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

About the Audit & Accounts Senior role

Due to growth in the department, we have an exciting opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior in our Croydon office.

The role is split approximately 70/30 between audit and non-audit assignments.

A varied role, we are able to offer career progression and the ability to be involved in other areas including consultancy and advisory services.

Key responsibilities of an Audit & Accounts Senior will include:

  • working within a team on the firm's larger audits for both corporate and not-for-profit clients
  • dealing with client queries and overseeing the work of junior colleagues
  • overseeing smaller audits reporting directly to partner
  • preparation of financial statements, both for audit and non-audit clients

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified
  • minimum of 3 years audit experience in an accountancy practice
  • up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards, company law etc.
  • good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax. An awareness of VAT and payroll taxes advantageous.
  • confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • you have developed good client liaison skills and work well as part of a team
  • analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally to be capable of identifying potential problems and providing solutions
  • show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of issues from start to finish
  • experience of working on a wide range of clients (some FCA experience would be beneficial)
  • computer literate including good Excel experience. A working knowledge of CCH and Pro-audit would be an advantage. Experience or knowledge of the Mercia audit methodology would also be helpful.
