Attendance Mentor

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the passion and drive to be part of an exciting project commissioned by the DFE that delivers targeted, responsive, one-to-one support for persistently and severely absent pupils across a number of Education Investment Areas (EIA).

The pilot started in Middlesbrough in October 2022 and then rolled out to four additional investment areas in September 2023 which are Salford, Doncaster, Stoke on Trent and Knowsley.

The successful candidate will be able:

  • To develop robust partnership working with schools
  • To support the identification, engagement and mentor support for pupils who are eligible for support within the project
  • To hold a case load of pupils to engage in mentoring support
  • To actively engage in the evaluation of the project

If you have theexperience of working in the education system, developing working relationships and have the skills and experience to engage mentor and support pupils who are persistently absent from education then we would like to hear from you.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to hold a current driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to continued funding and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band - this ensures that pay progression steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours .
