You will be part of the NW&C Region which consist of three routes:

• North West Route, covering Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire and Cumbria.

• Central Route, covering the West Midlands and Chiltern areas.

• West Coast South Route, covering the south of Crewe to London Euston.

There is also a Regional Team which supports Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.

Brief Description

The Assurance manager will lead and direct assurance and PIR activities across the portfolio of change programmes.

The job holder will lead in providing help and support to programmes in achieving compliance to the mandated assurance framework, achieving the requisite minimum standards for programme capability and share best practice.

About the role (External)

Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

• Develop, implement and manage the compliance and assurance framework and PIR policy for Business Change.

• Lead on the consolidation, reporting and analysis of key performance data, non-compliance indicators and identification of underlying causes impacting on change programme performance.

• Lead on the review of action plans to close out non-conformance and recommendations from investigations.

• Demonstrate effective assurance service provision through agreed KPIs, identifying opportunities to further improve the service offering, where possible.

• Add demonstrable value to programmes and support continuous improvement by providing expert advice and guidance through change programme engagement.

• In conjunction with the Best Practice Framework team ensure capture and dissemination of best practice and ensure effective Knowledge Management

• In conjunction with the Portfolio Management team define programme performance metrics, including the incorporation of maturity models where appropriate to support the assurance activity.

• Prioritise the use of resources and focus on assurance and PIR services in line with the agreed categorisation of programmes.

• Provide transparency on the activities of the department detailing what is being done and why.

• Manage the engagement and development of individuals within the team.

• Lead and inspire the team to maintain full engagement in meeting all objectives.

In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:

• Educated to degree level or above

• Extensive experience of assurance procedures and PIRs using best practice approaches, tools and techniques in support of assurance and PIR activities within large complex programme environments

• Results orientation, with a passion for delivery.

• Very good interpersonal skills and the ability to use influence to gain buy in complex political environments; ability to develop strong working relationships

• Strong Management and leadership skills

• Commercial awareness.

• An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.

• Significant business change experience

We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:

• Experience of working across business functions to deliver Јmulti-million business benefits.

• Experience of managing people in a change resistant and complex business environment.

• MSP or other suitable Programme Management Qualification

• Six Sigma Yellow belt or alternative business improvement qualification]]>
