Associate/Senior Associate, Professional Liability

Kennedys is looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to work on Professional Liability cases in our Birmingham office. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded Professional Liability team which is located in our Birmingham, London, Manchester, Leeds and Taunton offices.

The Professional Liability team in Birmingham is headed up by Eamon Mooney, who is named as a Leading individual for professional negligence work in the Legal 500 2022 results.

We are interested in speaking to candidates with Professional Indemnity experience, or Commercial Litigation experience. If you are interested in working in a supportive environment with ambitious colleagues we would love to hear from you.

Team

Kennedys' professional liability team deal with all areas of professional liability and handle claims of all sizes and complexity, including insurers who underwrite some of the world's largest financial institutions, global law firms, the 'Big Four' accounting firms, as well as insurers who underwrite regional, local and smaller institutions and firms.

Clients

  • Insurers
  • Self-Insureds
  • Construction professionals
  • IT professionals
  • Insolvency practitioners
  • Solicitors

Cases

  • Professional indemnity claims against solicitors, construction professionals and IT consultants as well as insurance/policy disputes.

Required experience

  • 5+ years' UK Qualified Solicitor or CILEX qualified with the relevant experience*
  • Familiar with professional indemnity policies and coverage issues, or alternatively experience within Commercial Litigation.
  • Experience of assisting on large cases in a team environment
  • Previous client contact and attendance at business development events
  • Experience of arbitration and negotiation.
