Associate/Senior Associate, Aviation Finance, 4+ Years' Experience

Kennedys is looking for an Associate to join its growing Transactions & Advisory team based in its London office, with hybrid working opportunities available.

This is a new position in London which offers involvement and experience in a range of transactional finance and leasing work across a variety of industry sectors, including real estate and leisure, aviation and asset finance and general secured lending.

This position will suit someone with transactional experience in aviation and asset finance and leasing, and who is comfortable running transactions independently, with input and support from other team members as required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work on the range of transactions that the team handles, and to contribute to the growth and development of the team, including by providing guidance to more junior team members and by participating in business development initiatives.

Team

Kennedys' Transactions & Advisory team currently comprises four partners and sits within the firm's growing Commercial Division. It focuses on providing advice and support for clients' corporate, finance, commercial and financial services requirements.

The wider Commercial Division consists of specialist lawyers who advise on a wide range of commercial services, including commercial law and agreements, corporate, banking and finance, corporate insurance, commercial employment, real estate, construction, insolvency, international litigation and arbitration.

Clients

The Transactions & Advisory team's client base is varied, and includes:

  • Banks and other financiers
  • Insurers
  • SMEs
  • Airlines and aircraft lessors
  • Multi-national corporations
  • Private individuals

Required experience

  • 4+ years' UK Qualified Solicitor or CILEX qualified with the relevant experience*
  • Experience in all aspects of finance and/or asset finance and leasing transactions, including secured and unsecured financing, intercreditor arrangements and LMA documentation
  • Transactional experience in one or more of real estate finance; aviation and asset finance and leasing; and general secured lending work
  • Experience of running own transactions and client relationships and receiving instructions directly from clients
  • Experience of assisting on a range of transactional work in a team environment, providing support to more senior team members and guidance to junior team members
