About the role
We have an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Product Manager to join Tesco's Basket Pricing Engine Team, part of the wider Retail Platform Team. Our mission is to deliver flexible pricing capabilities by building a compliant, secure, robust, performant, and scalable platform that provides accurate quotes (prices for a basket) and their resulting invoices to customers and consumers.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will work alongside other Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Data Analysts and Technical Programme Managers, to help define the vision and strategy. In the Basket Pricing Engine team, you will focus on how prices and promotions are executed, and a price is offered to the customer for the products that they want to buy. This is part of our Price platform which in turn powers all the colleague and customer pricing and checkout transactions at Tesco. This is across all the countries where we have stores, and in support of Tesco's core purpose and values.

You will be responsible for
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures.
- Evolve the product roadmap involving writing user stories, managing the backlog and priorities.
- Understand and partner with multiple internal/ external stakeholders in line with the wider business and Product strategy.
- Understand key user personas, customers and stakeholders for the product and their pain points.
- Work alongside research, design, analytics, and engineering teams to design and develop solutions to solve real business needs.
- Work as part of a wider product team, with a culture for shared goals, helping where appropriate as the need arises.
- Understand and demonstrate all the features of my product to different audiences within and outside of my immediate product team.
- Effectively document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests and help the team in breaking down a complex piece of work/ epic into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
- Be accountable for the performance/ adoption of your product and work towards increasing it.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
You will need
- Ideally have previous experience in a Pricing domain and / or with APIs.
- An understanding of the Product Management lifecycle, product delivery process and the importance of an Agile mindset to discover, design, define, develop, and deliver small increments of the most important opportunities that will drive growth and value for the product.
- An understanding of the importance of a product vision and strategy and how they are used to align teams to collaborate and prioritise work around a shared outcome.
- An understanding of the value that the User Experience (UX) and User Interface Design (UI) disciplines bring to products.
- The ability to know who the different customers that use a product are, be aware of the factors that influence and impact customer behaviour and be aware of how to use the outputs from customer research sessions to influence the product roadmap.
- An understanding of why experimentation is important to validate ideas and hypotheses.
- Awareness of how to use relevant tools to produce and update roadmaps for my product.
