Role Purpose:

CBRE is seeking an Associate Director for its London office whose primary responsibility is to support the growth and management of CBRE's EMEA 3rd party portfolio of commercial real estate loans. The candidate is responsible for managing a team of asset managers and the monitoring, servicing, and accounting of the loan portfolio. The position is expected to periodically provide inputs for budgets, cost recovery, income, business, and operating issues, along with recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of asset managers including assessing performance against set goals and objectives
  • Service assigned commercial real estate loans in the UK and continental Europe and monitor their performance including their ability to support debt service.
  • Monitor compliance by borrowers, including maintenance of property insurance and submission of rent rolls and property operating statements.
  • Responsible for maintaining key client relationships
  • Provide general customer service to lenders and borrowers.
  • Review internal processes and procedures and provide recommendations on improvement
  • Evaluate and prepare recommendations for lender consent items on loan and real estate related issues.
  • Responsible for the set-up of new loans in the loan servicing system, maintaining the integrity of loan information and document management.
  • Lead special projects as required.

Desired technical skills and experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a minimum five years' experience in UK & European real estate finance sector.
  • Management of people including goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Experience of servicing real estate debt transactions within the UK & Europe for a broad range of transactions (across various asset classes as well as investment and development loans) including execution and documentation experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong credit analysis skills with ability to present transactions to credit committee.
  • Client relationship skills: lender/borrower contacts and personal network to support business origination.
  • Able to lead the legal completion of any financing and focus on deal completion.
