The Opportunity
KPMG's Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional Associate Director candidates, with a Consumer Goods, Retail and Leisure focus and experience of at least one of our core propositions; Growth Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy and Enterprise-wide Transformation. The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG's rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG's broad set of capabilities within our Advisory practice. Our Strategy and Performance Transformation team works closely with c-suite and senior executives to identify and execute transformation opportunities that add and protect value for shareholders, employees and society. As the world continues to face unprecedented levels of change through digitalisation, regulation and an increasingly sophisticated consumer that is resulting market fragmentation and channel blurring, we have experienced increased market demand for our core services of i) Enterprise-wide Transformation; ii) Performance Improvement and; iii) Growth Strategy. Responsibilities
To be an effective Associate Director within our Strategy & Performance Transformation team applicants will be expected to:
- Build deep client relationships and be seen as the 'go to' person and a trusted advisor by senior executives
- Support the identification, pursuit and conversion of a pipeline of business development opportunities
- Actively develop own knowledge and expertise in chosen proposition(s) and sector
- Lead the design of complex engagements and take responsibility for leading day-to-day delivery
- Undertake scoping and fee negotiation on standard engagements
- Build and maintain an internal and external network
- Work collaboratively across other service lines within KPMG to ensure we are delivering maximum value for our clients
- Understand risk and ensure that the Firm's risks management frameworks are adhered to at all times
- Inspire, motivate, coach and develop project team members and appraisees, and give constructive 360 degree feedback
- Identify, design and lead critical and complex practice development initiatives, coordinating other members of the team

Your Experience
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following:
Work Experience:
- Proven experience working in a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm or strategy / development team in industry
- Detailed understanding of the value drivers within Consumer Goods, Retail and Leisure businesses
- Track record of leading complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting, or corporate
- Experience of managing or supporting high-value business development activities with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrable ability to build and commercialise relationships with senior executives
Technical skills:
- Sales and business development skills
- Evidence of strong problem-solving & analytical capabilities
- Ability review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights
- Ability to talk credibly with C-level clients on the key issues and strategic considerations facing the industry
- Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed
- Have a focus on mentoring and coaching junior staff
- Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong academic record
