We are looking for an experienced tax professional at Associate Director (Senior Manager) level to join our pre-eminent private client advisory team in London and Cambridge. Our team sits within a wider Private multi-disciplinary team and we focus on advising the most influential private clients and families including: single family offices, international families and inward investors, private equity and hedge fund owners, trustees (UK and non-UK), on all of their tax affairs.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You will have responsibility for providing technical advice across a wide range of projects including: rules relating to non-UK domiciliaries and the upcoming proposed changes, trusts, estate and succession planning, structuring and reorganisations either for specific transactions (including real estate) or other family changes, transactions. If you have private equity experience that is also welcomed The core role is private client (income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax), you will have knowledge of key issues across other taxes, and will build your knowledge of other taxes and wider commercial issues.

Your role will be diverse and challenging, and you will take the lead on delivering our client services and developing client relationships, as well as playing an active part in building new relationships and winning work.

You will be a confident team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise with others, as well as continuing to build your own technical expertise or specialism. Your responsibilities will include managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

As part of your role, you will receive continuous on the job training, including direct interaction with the partners and directors in our team, as well as extensive opportunities to interact with our clients and targets. You will have people management responsibilities, including developing junior members of the team and may act as a coach for more junior members of the team.

  • ACA, CTA or equivalent qualifications
  • UK private client tax experience gained within a practice firm, a legal firm or industry
  • Experience of working with UHNW private clients and family offices
  • Strong technical skills across broad range of private client tax areas
  • Experience of owning a portfolio of clients and the ability to form and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong people/leadership skills and experience of developing others
  • Commercial awareness and the desire to understand your clients' businesses and/ or objectives
  • Looking for long term career in practice with opportunity to progress.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
