Platform Architect
As a Platform Architect, you will hold a broad remit of responsibilities, which may flex depending on the specific client engagement. You will provide technical leadership and architectural vision to multi-capability and often multi-geography teams, ensuring the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions that deliver business-critical outcomes for our clients. You will apply your deep technical expertise and architectural understanding, coupled with a strong grasp of the technology industry (and wider TMT experience), to support clients in navigating their complex technical challenges.
As a Platform Architect, you will:
- Architect and optimise core technology platforms, ensuring they are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Lead platform transformation programmes, including cloud migration, automation, and adoption of DevOps practices.
- Develop platform modernisation strategies, addressing technical debt, cost optimisation, and regulatory compliance.
- Shape and deliver operational improvement plans, embedding best practices in ITSM, cost management, and platform governance.
- Manage integration of platforms with legacy and next-generation network elements, ensuring seamless operation and future readiness.
- Build and manage senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on platform investment and transformation to senior technology and engineering executives.
- Represent Deloitte in industry forums and thought leadership initiatives, enhancing the firm's reputation in the technology sector.
- Mentor and develop junior platform architects, supporting a high-performing, inclusive team culture.

Technical requirements
- Extensive experience in technology platform architecture and large-scale transformation programmes for technology companies.
- Deep hands-on expertise in architecting and optimising technology platforms, including AWS, GCP and Azure.
- Proven track record in business development, including opportunity identification, proposal shaping, bid management, and client relationship management in the technology sector.
- Strong understanding of operational effectiveness in technology delivery, including DevOps, automation, ITSM, cost management, and optimisation strategies.
- Ability to engage with senior client stakeholders, translating business requirements into platform strategies and communicating complex concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by technology companies, such as rapid scaling, cost optimisation, technical debt, and regulatory compliance.
- Commitment to mentoring and developing junior colleagues, sharing technology platform architecture knowledge, and supporting a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
- Relevant cloud and technology certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TM Forum certifications).

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
