A Day in the Life

This role is part of the Life Sciences team, a dynamic group tackling various challenges throughout the therapeutic development cycle-from facilitating therapeutic target discovery to leveraging genetic risk prediction for optimizing clinical trial design.

An Associate Director serves as a group leader and contributes by:

  • Developing innovative and rigorous scientific strategies to address key challenges.
  • Leading their team and personally contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality scientific outputs, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget.
  • Effectively communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders across different seniority levels and functions (e.g., Medical, Commercial, Technology).
  • Fostering a culture of positivity and excellence, with line management responsibilities for their team.

In this role, you'll bring broad experience in statistical genetics to contribute to multiple areas within our company (e.g., genomic risk prediction approaches such as PRS, and core approaches like GWAS/colocalization for pharmaceutical objectives such as target discovery).

The Associate Director role combines innovative scientific thinking with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset. It requires a strong sense of ownership for objectives, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

You will need

  • Expertise in statistical genetics and/or functional genomics, with experience in applications relevant to the life sciences (e.g., target discovery)
  • Experience in taking ownership of independently developing, executing, and prioritizing scientific research plans for large size, long-term projects.
  • The ability to lead for Genomics in interactions with 3rd parties, and being able to reach desired end goals.
  • Experience of managing teams of scientists
