About the Role
The EMEA Legal team advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, framework agreements, standard terms of business, procurement, sponsorship, and IT related agreements. The Legal team provides advice across the business on a broad range of legal and risk issues impacting CBRE as well as other matters that arise from time to time, such as disputes, data privacy and IP, with the support of external counsel where required.
This role is a high visibility position requiring coordination across multiple jurisdictions and continuous engagement with various levels of the Group's personnel in the UK and across EMEA.
What You'll Do:
• Review, draft, negotiate and advise on a varied and broad range of matters including MSAs, client contracts, NDAs, sub-contracts and local country agreements for all service lines
• Work autonomously and efficiently to deliver legal solutions to support the UK business
• Work collaboratively across UK and EMEA functions
• Create and maintain internal precedent document templates
• Develop and deliver live and web-based training sessions to the UK and EMEA businesses
• Involvement with litigation strategy and dispute resolution processes in collaboration with local in-house litigation counsel, the insurance risk management team and external counsel, where required
• Work collaboratively with US litigation and insurance risk management teams
• Instruct and manage outside counsel and advisors in relation to specialised or technical legal projects
• Provide ad hoc advice to, and collaborate with, legal, operational and commercial colleagues on a broad range of matters
• Peer review, supervision and mentoring junior members of the legal team
What You'll Need:
• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2-3 years PQE, ideally gained in private practice and in-house
• Solid commercial contracts experience
• Experience working in a multi-national organisation
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently, proactively and co-operatively
• Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
• Willingness to work on tight timeframes at a fast pace, including accommodating different time zones on global transactions
• Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
• Professional and approachable whilst also being adaptable
• Team player who deals effectively with colleagues
