About The Role

Due to the significant expansion at APEM Group and the successes of our team, we are seeking an Associate Director to join our join our Environmental Planning Division. We are currently delivering EIA, consenting and post consent compliance for transmission, onshore renewables, offshore wind, desalination facilities and interconnector projects across the UK and Ireland and there is no end of interesting projects for ambitious and motivated individuals to drive forward.

In this key role, you'll continue to grow the APEM Environmental Planning Division to support a pipeline of renewable energy, coastal and active travel projects across the UK and Ireland delivering Environmental Statements, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and other environmental consenting documents. Your expertise will guide projects from inception to completion, encompassing route planning, site selection, pre-application, application, and determination stages, facilitating the execution of intricate infrastructure projects under diverse consenting frameworks.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Extensive previous experience in the delivery of EIA work, including Environmental Statements, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and supporting documentation.
  • Experience of working within a variety of planning regimes, for example NSIP/DCO, TCPA, S36 (Scotland) and DNS (Wales) and the equivalent in Ireland.
  • Project experience across a range of infrastructure and development sectors, with experience within the renewables industry as a consultant or with a developer is particularly desirable.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the UK & Irish policy and regulatory framework for EIA and ideally Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
  • Extensive experience of liaising with clients and internal supply chains and a focus on meeting and exceeding client requirements and a commitment to technical excellence.
