Associate Director - Development (ID Manchester)

This role is specifically for the ID Manchester (IDM) project team. IDM is a joint venture (JV) between The University of Manchester and Bruntwood SciTech that will transform the University's former north campus into a new neighbourhood and innovation platform.

Based in the heart of Manchester City Centre and set over 4m sq ft, IDM will be recognised internationally as one of the world's leading applied innovation districts. It will enable resilient and sustainable growth across the city region, creating over 10,000 jobs and delivering over 2m sq ft of office, innovation, retail and leisure spaces, new homes and a variety of nature-led public spaces.

You'll be based on the site of ID Manchester in our Renold Building which overlooks the whole of the Development.

Relationships:

As part of the IDM project team you'll collaborate with specialists; ranging from Marketing & Community Impact, to Building Surveying, with the support and tools from Bruntwood SciTech and The University of Manchester. Working closely with stakeholders and colleagues from each institution.

This is a pivotal role to support and deliver Bruntwood and the University of Manchester's ambitious ID masterplan, leading critical large scale projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for influencing and developing the development strategy, working with stakeholders to create and effectively execute the development business plan. You will act as a senior leader in the business, upholding and role modelling our values, providing experience and support to the wider development team, and actively network to promote our brand and lead change programmes.

What we're looking for:

  • A Degree or Masters level equivalent within Real Estate
  • Extensive experience in leading high value large scale projects from inception to completion
  • Ability to build strong, key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, commanding trust and confidence
  • A keen interest in property and property development with a passion for sustainability and technology
  • The ability to manage and deliver a number of tasks / projects simultaneously
  • Acute commercial awareness with the ability to identify new opportunities
  • A natural coaching style, passionate about leading and empowering teams to perform
  • A leader on equality of opportunity who values diversity and removes barriers to equality
